Deck Railing Options

Published On: August 16th, 2022

The railings on a deck are an essential safety feature to ensure no one falls off while on the deck or walking down the stairs. However, railings don’t have to be boring or standard.

There are a variety of railing options to choose from so that you can get the exact aesthetic you are looking for:

Aluminum Railings

Aluminum railings offer a sleek and modern appearance and are available in a range of colours and finishes. Today’s aluminum railings are weather-resistant and low maintenance and will look great for years to come.

Glass Railings

If you’ve taken great care to make your property as scenic as possible, glass railings are a way for you to maintain your view.

A glass railing also works well if you have a patterned deck where you don’t want the railing to create too busy of a look. Glass railings are a simple option for a very clean look that allows you to enjoy the view that’s beyond the deck.

Wood (or Composite) Railings

If you want a more traditional look and don’t want to mix materials, we can construct custom railings out of wood or composite. Railings can be stained to match your deck to provide a more cohesive look. Consider a low maintenance rail top to avoid future splinters!

Curved Railings

As not all decks are square or rectangular, we need to have railings that work with any deck design.

When you want to sit poolside or have a deck overlooking a pool, a curved deck can give you a great design option to go with the pool design.

These railings can be constructed of glass or aluminum, depending on the finished look you are going for. A supplier will need to be sourced that curves glass and aluminum.

Deck Lighting

Our clients don’t want just to enjoy their deck during the daylight, so we want to make sure they can get the most enjoyment out of their new space as possible. One of the ways we can help make sure you get the most out of the deck is by adding outdoor lighting, privacy screening, and shade structures.

Outdoor lighting can be installed into the railings, which provides additional use of the space once the daylight is gone and additional safety and security.

No matter what the vision is for your deck and the railings, we are happy to help.
